Moissanite Pear

This collection holds loose pear cut moissanite: individual teardrop-shaped stones sold on their own, ready for a setting of your choice. Each listing names the stone's carat weight, color and clarity in the title, so you can compare stones side by side before you buy.

Colors and Grades of Pear Cut Moissanite

Most stones here are colorless, graded from E to H, with clarity grades such as VVS1, VVS2, VS1 and VS2. There are also fancy color pear moissanites in pink, yellow, blue and green, from intense to vivid tones. Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone with a hardness of about 9.25 on the Mohs scale and strong fire, the colorful flashes you see when the stone moves.

How to Choose a Loose Pear Moissanite

A pear is rounded at one end and pointed at the other, so it looks longer and slimmer than a round stone of the same weight. Look at the outline: both shoulders should be even and the point should line up with the rounded end. The point is the most delicate part of the stone, so most jewelers protect it with a V-prong or bezel. Use our diamond size chart to picture each carat weight, and read moissanite vs lab grown diamond vs diamond if you are still comparing stones.
