Moissanite Emerald

This collection holds loose emerald cut moissanite: rectangular step-cut stones sold on their own, ready for a setting you choose. Each listing names the carat weight, color and clarity in its title, so you can compare stones quickly.

Colors and Grades of Emerald Cut Moissanite

Many of the colorless stones here are D color, with others down to I, and clarity grades such as VVS2, VS1 and VS2. You will also find fancy color emerald cut moissanite in green, yellow and brown tones. Instead of the many small facets of a brilliant cut, an emerald cut has long, parallel step facets that give broad flashes of light and a clean, open look. Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone with a hardness of about 9.25 on the Mohs scale.

How to Choose a Loose Emerald Cut Moissanite

Because step facets are open, an emerald cut shows the inside of the stone more clearly than a brilliant cut, so clarity matters more. Look at the length-to-width ratio too: a longer stone looks slimmer and more elegant, a shorter one looks closer to square. The clipped corners help protect the stone in a setting. Use our diamond size chart to picture each carat weight, and see moissanite vs lab grown diamond vs diamond for a side-by-side comparison.
